The Special Hazards Responders of Clarion County (SHRCC) team is a group of volunteer responders from throughout the County. When dispatched, the team works with other emergency personnel in dealing with hazardous material (HAZMAT) incidents.
The SHRCC team has committed itself to an advanced level of training in dealing with hazardous materials, radiological and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents both in Clarion County and the NorthWest Central Pennsylvania Task Force region.
The team responds to incidents in a tractor trailer unit that houses their testing and monitoring equipment, personal protective equipment, decontamination capablilities and tools/materials for containment operations.
Currently the team consists of 25 members who meet once a month for training at the Office of Emergency Services.
